What Gamers Want for the Week of 7-27-14

Remastering the classics

PS4 owners are getting a few treats this week, but most of the other available gaming platforms don’t have much to offer in terms of new video game releases. The PS4 is getting The Last of Us Remastered, Rogue Legacy (PS3/Vita too), and Pure Pool this week, with TLOUR being the most prominent and worthy new release for Sony’s latest console. Vita owners can also get their hands on the Ratchet and Clank Collection for the handheld, which also drops this week.

Microsoft and Nintendo branded consoles and/or handhelds are getting a few new titles this week, but not many. Thew Xbox 360 will see the release of Air Mech Arena, and the 3DS will be getting Lego Ninjago Nindroids. The PC platform has a few more releases as well with Residue, Eidolon, The Room, and Firefall all dropping this week.

Our Recommendation

Even if you’ve already played it on the PS3 The Last of Us Remastered will still be a stellar gameplay experience. Playing it on the PS4 and experiencing the tale of Joel and Ellie in a glorious new package shouldn’t be missed, so definitely add this remastered classic to your to do list this week. Rogue Legacy is another great re-release worth checking out on Sony’s platforms as well.
