I hope you are still working through all of the triple-A games that came out last Fall, because once again we’re looking at a new week void of any worthy video games to buy.  This week is particularly crappy, and the only item I deem worthy is the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.  Outside of the DLC for Ubisoft’s killer franchise, there is nothing worth picking up this week from the gaming arena.

Movie fans will have a little more luck this week in regards to worthy films to buy on Blu-ray/DVD.  Paranormal Activity 3, Real Steel, and 50/50 will all be available to buy on Tuesday the 24th.  I threw the cancer picture in there because Seth Rogen is in it, and I’ve heard great things about it.  It’s definitely not my cup of tea, but it’s has a 93% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it can’t be that bad.  Personally, I’d like to check out Real Steel, which is a movie about a washed up boxer who trains boxing robots.  I’m sure it’s awful, but it has robots fighting robots, so it can’t be that bad, especially if you’re a geek.

It’s definitely another light week, so keep building up your stockpile of spending money if nothing above interests you.  Things will start to turn around in February in regards to the video game market, so before you know it you’ll be knee deep in games like Mass Effect 3 and FFXIII-2.  You’ve been needing to save some cash…

Videogames to buy for the week of 1.23.12

If you own AC: Revelations then you may want to consider picking up Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack, but outside of that there’s nothing worth buying this week for your gaming needs.

Blu-ray/DVD’s to buy for the week of 1.23.12

You may not want to buy it, but if you’re into sci-fi movies you may want to check out Hugh Jackman’s Real Steel.  If you like movies about cancer (seriously, who likes movies about real life and death?) then you have to watch 50/50, or if you like shitting yourself while watching movies you may want to check out Paranormal Activity 3.  As always you can purchase any of these films by clicking on their images below.
