This particular week in June has a fair amount of new games coming out that could warrant spending some of your hard earned moola. First up you have Beenox’s The Amazing Spider-Man game, which is a follow up tie-in to the upcoming Spider-Man reboot film. I have already had a chance to play this game and it is awesome, so I can recommend it as a purchase without blinking an eye. If you’re more into modern war themed games then you may want to check out Spec Ops: The Line, which is a near future shooter set in Dubai.
Now if you don’t want to spend $60 on a brand new retail game you can opt to go for the Dawnguard expansion pack for Skyrim, which releases tomorrow on the Xbox 360 for 1600 MS points. Each of these titles offer different gameplay, so most gamers should be able to find a gaming experience that suits their style quite easily this week.
There’s also a few Blu-ray/DVD releases this week that may tickley your fancy if you’ve been needing some new flicks for your home library. Wrath of the Titans is coming out on Tuesday for 3D TV owners, and it’s actually not that bad of a movie. It’s definitely better than the fist film in this franchise, and the effects are pretty cool, so it may be worth owning. I didn’t see 21 Jump Street myself, but I heard many good things about it, so if you’re not against owning non-sci-fi movies at home then you may want to check this remake out.
Finally, if you’re a movie buff and love all things film you can pick up The Artist, which cleaned house at this year’s Oscars. I just can’t recommend it because it looked about as entertaining as having a colonoscopy. As always you can pick up any of these recommendations by clicking on their Amazon links below. You’ve been needing to play this new Spider-Man game…
Video games to buy for the week of 6.25.12
If you only can buy one game this week I’d go with The Amazing Spider-Man. I’ve played through it and loved it, so I can recommend it as a buy without blinking. The other offerings aren’t too shabby either.
Blu-ray/DVDs to buy for the week of 6.25.12
None of these films are considered amazing, well I guess the Academy thought that The Artist was, but each may have a place in your home library. I know 3D TV owners will at least enjoy Wrath of the Titans, which is a decent film with good special effects.
