Well those piggy banks may have to be cracked open this week, because there’s an overabundance of new video games and Blu-ray/DVDs headed to store shelves.  In the video game arena the two heavy hitters this week have to be Madden 13 and Guild Wars 2 (PC).  If those don’t do it for you then you may want to check out the DLC space, because the first bit of campaign related DLC for Mass Effect 3 debuts with the “Leviathan” pack.  Now if you want to go old school Sony is releasing three of their classic collection packs with new HD graphics for God of War, inFamous, and Ratchet and Clank.  Each of these boast every game from the franchise in glorious HD for those games that debuted on the puny PS2.

Surprisingly, the home movie releases this week are just as strong as the video game debuts.  The Transformers-like Battleship is coming out for those of you that just like watching special effects, or you could pick up the animated Starship Troopers: Invasion.  If you need to get caught up with the last season of your favorite TV show then you’ll be happy to know that Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, Once Upon a Time, and The Walking Dead are all coming out this week for your Blu-ray/DVD player.

As always you can pick up any of these recommendations by clicking on their Amazon images below.  You’ve been thinking that it’s going to be an expensive Fall…
