This week’s biggest release for geeks is undoubtedly the iPhone 4S, which will hit stores on the 14th, but good luck getting your paws on one if you didn’t pre-order one.  If you aren’t in the market for iPhone 4S then your week in geek is looking pretty grim.  There aren’t a whole lot of great video games coming out this week, and the Blu-ray/DVD releases aren’t looking much better.  Never fear though, there’s usually something for everyone, so head on down below and map out your shopping list for the week of October 10, 2011.  You’ve been needing at least one item from the options listed below…

Video Game Releases for the Week of 10/10/11

This is honestly probably the last week where gamers won’t find a super duper triple-A title to play until mid November.  Racing fans can get their hands on Forza 4 for the Xbox 360, but outside of that the rest of the new releases are full of Kinectware, and other middle of the road games.  PS3 users are facing the same bleakness that their 360 counterparts are experiencing this week, so it may be a good time to just catch up on some of your older games, or play excellent ones in a new package such as the Red Dead Redemption: GOTY Edition.  Although, if you need something to play the titles below may be worth a look.  Click on an image to buy any of the titles below.

XBLA and PSN Downloads: Dragon Age 2: Mark of the Assassin (XBLA/PSN), Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet: Shadow Hunters (XBLA), Sideway: New York (PSN)

Blu-Ray/DVD Releases for the Week of 10/10/11

There aren’t many films coming out this week that geeks will be interested in outside of the Green Lantern release, which may not be garnering much love within their ranks either.  I’ll be picking up the overly criticized film to add to my collection of 3D enabled Blu-rays, but I’m not expecting to be wowed by Green Lantern on the small screen.  Regardless, I dug it, and will own it on the 11th.  Click on an image to buy any of the titles below.

Everything Else for the Week of 10/10/11

Without a doubt millions of geeks across the galaxy will be looking forward to this Friday, because this is the day that Apple’s next iPhone hits the market.  The iPhone 4S will be released on 10/14, and for those savvy enough to pre-order them this Friday is looking might exciting.  Outside of that there isn’t much to look forward to.  If you have a tip on an item we missed please leave it in the comments section below.  Click on the image to pre-order, but be prepared for a long wait.  The initial shipment of the 4S has been sucked dry by idiots like me.
