Giant Sparrow has returned to show off their new game, What Remains of Edith Finch, at PSX. The game will be a collection of short stories that revolve around a cursed family in Washington State. Each story will offer the player the chance to experience the life of a different family member, spanning nearly a century, from the early 1900’s to present day. The tone of each story is adapted to the personality of each family member, the only constant being that each one is played through a first-person prospective and that in the end, each one will die. The game was designed to instill players with a sense of astonishment about the unknowable world around us. Your ultimate goal will be to discover why you, Edith Finch, are the last remaining member of her family.
Exclusive to PlayStation 4, What Remains of Edith Finch won’t be seen until 2016, but hopefully the trailer can tide us over for a little while.
