The mashed YouTube channel has crafted another video game parody gem with its Wolfenstein II: VHS Vengeance short, which aims to portray the game as if it were a 1980’s cartoon. It’s even animated as if it were being played from a worn out VHS cassette, which for most of you, is probably something you never had to mess with as a kid.
Anyway, the short proposes a Wolfenstein II cartoon called BJ and the Freedom Fighters, which features most of the main characters you come across in the game, as well as the enemies. What makes this bit so brilliant are all of the cheeky references to other games, as well as Wolfenstein’s own plot. For example, BJ’s wife and unborn child are featured, and it’s revealed that the child can punch out Nazis from within his Mother’s womb. It’s the little silly things like this that make the video even more brilliant than it already is.
If you enjoyed Wolfenstein II, or grew up watching cartoons in the 80’s, then you should definitely check out Wolfenstein II: VHS Vengeance above.
