Woody Harrelson in Han Solo Film and Leia’s Future Top This Week’s Star Wars Rumors

Earlier this week it was reported that Woody Harrelson has been cast, or is at least the top choice to play Han’s mentor in the standalone Han Solo movie. This was reported by Variety, but hasn’t been confirmed yet. It would give Woody his second mentoring role in a massive geeky franchise if he gets it thanks to his turn on The Hunger Games films.

It was also reported today that Lucasfilm and the appropriate creators of the Skywalker Star Wars films will meet to discuss how to handle Leia’s future in Episodes VIII and IX. Fisher completed her shots for VIII, but due to her death it’s unclear how Leia’s role will now play out if she survives and makes it to Episode IX. Either way planning must be done and changes will surely be applied to the Episode VIII and IX scripts to accommodate Carrie’s unfortunate passing.
