World Lens Gives Google Goggles Some Competition

Quest Visual has released an app called World Lens, that essentially does one of the functions of Google Goggles really well; translating signs in Spanish to English.  World Lens is available on the iTunes app store now, and doesn’t require any sort of mobile connection to perform its magic.  This is unlike Goggles, which needs a connection to look up whatever you are scanning.  World Lens only seems to support translations, where Goggles can translate, look up product information, and wipe your a*s.  I will admit that World Lens looks pretty ingenious though.  I wonder how it works in the real world.  Take a look at the demo below.  You’ve been given another way to translate your local McDonald’s food menu…
