X-Men News: ‘Gambit’ Production Date and ‘Apocalypse’ Set Piece

Fans of X-Men received some good news today. First was the announcement of a production date for the standalone Gambit film, starring Channing Tatum as the Ragin’ Cajun. The film is set to begin filming in October in Louisiana and will have a $150 million budget, and is scheduled to wrap filming in February and be released October 2016. Via Comic Book Movies

In other mutant news, director Bryan Singer showed off a set piece while filming in Egypt, elaborating on the use of practical sets along with digital.

X-Men: Apocalypse takes place in the ’80s during the Reagan administration, and explores the mythology of En Sabah Nur, better known as Apocalypse (played by Oscar Isaac).

X-Men: Apocalypse will be in theaters on May 27th, 2016.
