You Can Now Earn PlayStation Store Discounts By Earning In-game Trophies

Changes to the Sony Rewards program now make it possible to earn PlayStation store discounts by gaining trophies from games played on PlayStation consoles. Under these new terms players that earn 100 silver trophies will earn 100 points, 25 gold trophies net 250 points and 10 platinum trophies — which are awarded for earning every trophy a game offers — gets 1,000 points. 1,000 points on the PlayStation Store will get you a $10 discount, so this is a pretty solid new program. Although, this program is only available to gamers in the U.S. at this time.

To take advantage of this program you have to link your PSN account to your Sony Rewards account. You will only earn points for new Trophies earned, not your old ones, so the points will only start adding up for new Trophies earned. To get started you have to sign up for Sony Rewards and link your PSN account. You can start this process now over on the Sony Rewards site.
