The nominees for the 87th Academy Awards have been released, and there are two favorites leading the way for the major categories. Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman lead all films with nine nominations each. Anderson has long had a cult following with his uniquely styled films, and is now being recognized on a larger podium for his most recent endeavor, winning Best Picture at the Golden Globes. Iñárritu’s Birdman is highlighted by an amazing Michael Keaton performance that won him Best Actor at the Globes.
